Eric M. Heath

Eric M. Heath is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Meridian Bancorp Inc (MARYLAND). Eric has over 32 years of experience in the banking industry, having served in various positions such as Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Compliance Officer, Commercial Loan Officer, Mortgage Loan Underwiter, Revolving Credit Specialist, Assistant Manager, and Loan Servicing.

Eric has been instrumental in leading the HR department at East Boston Savings Bank, scaling it from 120 employees to 555. Eric has also participated in annual strategic planning and supported the company’s growth from $900 million in assets to $6.4 billion.

In addition, they have implemented DEI initiatives in HR policy, compensation, and recruitment advertising and outreach by fostering relationships with the AACA, JVC, MRC and with Boston Spirit Magazine and the Bay State Banner. Eric is also the Plan Administrator for the 401(k) Plan and the ESOP.

Eric has received recognition for their innovative HR benefits packages, including Paid Parental Leave and dedicated lactation space benefits years before they were legislated. Eric also established a seeded and matched HSA Plan, as well as an Adoption Benefit Plan that was recognized among the best in the nation by the Dave Thomas Foundation in its first two years.

Most recently, they have established a first in the market Palliative & End of Life Care paid leave benefit. Eric has also supported 1st and 2nd step stock conversions through help preparing the CD&A portions of proxies, internal communications, and creating the opportunity for employees to buy stock in the 2nd step with 401(k) plan assets.

Eric has also performed due diligence and new employee onboarding, as well as associated Plan migrations and payroll conversions, for acquisitions. Eric has also performed internal investigations and coordinated work with counsel.

Eric M. Heath attended the University of New Hampshire, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters.
