Jenny Okonkwo

Jenny Okonkwo has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jenny is currently serving as the Director of DEI Belonging and Reconciliation at Meridian Credit Union. Prior to this, they founded the Black Female Accountants Network (BFAN) in 2016 and served as its President until 2022. Jenny also held the position of CEO at Transform Consulting Inc. from 2021 to 2023 and worked as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consultant at Hydro One from 2021 to 2023. Additionally, Jenny worked at the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) as a Manager and Team Lead in Workplace Equity and Inclusion. Jenny has also gained experience in accounting and finance roles at Johnson & Johnson, Molson Coors Canada, Burger King Corporation, and RSA Insurance. Jenny'sexpertise lies in DEI, leadership development, workplace diversity, and inclusion.

Jenny Okonkwo has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Operations and Finance from the University of Hertfordshire. Jenny also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The Open University Business School, with a focus on various aspects of senior management, strategy, marketing, knowledge management, finance, and innovation. Additionally, Jenny has a Postgraduate Certificate in Project Management from The Open University and is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) from CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) in England. Jenny has also obtained various certifications, including a Certificate in Inclusive Leadership from the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), a Certified Corporate FP&A Professional from the Association for Financial Professionals, and a Diploma in Computerized Accounting from Evergreen College. Furthermore, Jenny is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) from CPA Ontario. Jenny has also completed additional courses and obtained certifications related to digital mindset and accounting.
