Heather Lair

Partner at Meridian Institute

Heather Lair is a Partner in Meridian’s Washington, D.C. office, where she also serves as the Office Director. She has led a number of projects working to improve ocean policy, food security, agricultural technology, and community resilience. A highlight of her time at Meridian is co-managing the Indonesia Marine Funders Collaboration (IMFC), a group of funders focused on sustainable fisheries management and marine conservation in Indonesia. Heather is inspired by partnering with IMFC grantees, Indonesian ocean advocates who are working tirelessly to protect marine resources, and the communities that depend upon them.

Heather has more than 20 years of experience supporting strategy, collaboration, and research to advance sustainability, enhance public policy, and improve organizational decision-making. Prior to joining Meridian, she led climate and energy efficiency strategies for the University of Maryland and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras.
