Amanda Dean Blackwell has extensive experience in various leadership roles in human resources. Amanda currently serves as the Market Director of Human Resources, Education, and Employee Health at Merit Health, where they manage a consolidated HR team delivering services to six hospitals and outpatient clinics. Before this, they held the position of Human Resources Director at Merit Health as well. Prior to Merit Health, Amanda served as the Director of Human Resources at St. Joseph Hospital. Amanda also has experience in the healthcare sector, having worked at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, where they held the positions of Associate Medical Center Director and Assistant Medical Center Director. Amanda's earlier work experience includes roles at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, VA Southeast Network Office, VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Defense Finance & Accounting Service, and the Dispute Resolution Clinic. Amanda has a solid background in recruitment, retention, compensation, performance management, employee relations, education, payroll, and benefits.

Amanda Dean Blackwell earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from Ball State University - Miller College of Business in 2002. Following this, they went on to pursue their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in American/U.S. Law/Legal Studies/Jurisprudence from The University of Toledo College of Law, completing it in 2005. Concurrently, they also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The University of Toledo in the same period.
