Kristen Buter has over 15 years of work experience in the legal field, starting as an Administrative Assistant at Rockford Construction in 2005. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a Legal Assistant at Van Dyke, Gardner, Linn & Burkhart LLP. Kristen then joined Secrest Wardle as a Law Clerk in 2013, and later became an Attorney, working there until 2016. Since 2016, they have been with Meritage Hospitality Group, starting as a Corporate Counsel and progressing to a Senior Counsel role. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Legal and Risk at Meritage Hospitality Group.
Kristen Buter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Grand Valley State University. Kristen also pursued a degree in Political Science, specifically Pre-law, from Lake Superior State University. Additionally, Kristen Buter obtained a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
