Charles Njenga

Principal systems engineer at Merlin Labs

Charles Njenga has over 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Charles began their career in 1999 as a Student Assistant at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Mail Center. In 2000, they became a Hardware and Software Integrator at Eagle Research Labs Inc. Charles then joined the Applied Engineering and Research Center as a Flight Test Engineer in 2003. Later that year, they became a Graduate Teaching Assistant at ERAU and a Student Assistant at the ERAU Extended Campus Records and Registration. Charles also worked as a Cook at the ERAU Student Center Cafeteria. In 2006, Charles Njenga joined Rockwell Collins Inc as a Senior Systems and Flight Test Engineer, and later as a Senior Systems Engineer. In 2018, they moved to Collins Aerospace as a Principal Systems and Flight Test Engineer, where they provided technical leadership on development of stall protection systems for various platforms and product lines, and mentored junior engineers on system development process and principles. In 2022, they joined Merlin Labs as a Principal Systems Engineer.

Charles Njenga completed their Masters of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2008, and their Bachelors of Science in Aircraft Engineering Technology from the same university in 2003.
