Chris Allen has been working in the aviation industry since 1998, when they began as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer at HNZ Group. In 2003, they moved to Air New Zealand as a Line Maintenance Supervisor, and then to Airlines Of Papua New Guinea Ltd.,Cairns as an Avionics team leader in 2008. In 2010, they took a FIFO role as a Licensed Avionics engineer at HEVILIFT, where they were responsible for trouble shooting, repair and modifications on Bell helicopter fleet, ATR72 and DHC6 aircraft. In 2017, they moved to RepairCraft Nelson Ltd as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (Avionics), and is currently employed at Merlin Labs as a Senior Licensed Avionics Engineer since 2022.
Chris Allen completed a New Zealand Diploma in Aeronautical Maintenance Certification at ServiceIQ from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended Christchurch Boys High School from 1980 to 1984. Additionally, they have obtained multiple certifications, including the Bell 412EP Avionics Approved Training Course from the Bell Training Academy in Fort Worth, Texas in 2011, an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Papua New Guinea in 2011, an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority in 2011, and an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License from the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand in 1993.
