David Weston

David Weston has a long and varied career in the aerospace industry. David began their career in 1996 as a R&D Test Engineer at Kautex Textron. In 1999, they joined Airbus as a Stress Engineer, and then moved to Altitude Aerospace Interiors Ltd. in 2003 as an Engineering Coordinator. In 2011, they joined Airwork Holdings Ltd. as a Senior Design Engineer and Weston Aero Ltd. as a Director. At Airwork Holdings Ltd., they later became the Design Manager and Head of Design. In 2022, they joined Merlin Labs as the VP Certification Quality & Safety and NZ Certification Lead.

David Weston obtained their Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wales, Cardiff in 1999. Prior to that, they obtained A Levels in Maths, Chemistry, and Physics from St. Cenydd Comprehensive between 1988 and 1994. David also holds a NZCAA Class A Design Delegate certification from the New Zealand CAA.
