Tim Burns

Tim Burns currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Merlin, where the focus is on advancing aerospace autonomy. Previously, Tim held the position of Chief Engineer at Honda Aircraft Company, leading a significant team in the design phases of the HondaJet Echelon while ensuring component integration. Tim also worked as Chief Engineer at L3Harris Technologies, developing military avionic systems for enhanced battlefield capabilities. As Vice President of Engineering at Thales, Tim directed the engineering team in creating innovative cockpit and passenger connectivity solutions. Earlier in Tim's career, as Engineering Manager at Gulfstream Aerospace, responsibilities included overseeing advanced avionics development and complex systems integration for the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck. Tim holds a B.Eng (Hons) in Avionic Systems Engineering from the University of Bristol and completed the Emerging Leaders Programme in Business Leadership at Hult Ashridge Executive Education.
