Helen Kearney is currently a PhD candidate and MSCA Early Stage Researcher at the MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine, focusing on developing an in vitro kidney model for safety drug screening using iPSCs and microfluidic bioprinting technologies. Previous experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Evotec, conducting multi-cell line genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9 knockout screens and high-content screening. As a Medical Assistant at Matt O'Flaherty Chemists, Helen provided advice on OTC medications and delivered high-quality customer service. Experience as a Preschool Teacher at the International Sunshine Home involved teaching Maths and Science and developing a STEM program for young children. Earlier work as an Associate Scientist at Charles River Laboratories included high throughput screening and mammalian cell culture. Educational qualifications encompass a Master of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Galway and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology and Physiology from University College Dublin.
