Hélène Alonso

Chief Design Officer at Merlyn Mind

Hélène Alonso is currently the Chief Design Officer at Merlyn Mind. Prior to that, they were an Adjunct Professor/Critic at New York University's Interactive Technologies Program (ITP) from January 2013 to July 2013. There, they developed a master course on the design and production of emerging interactive experiences focused on stories about science. In July 2008, they became the Director of Interactive Experiences at the American Museum of Natural Theirtory where they led the vision and production of cutting-edge interactive experiences, including immersive digital environments, projection mapping, video games, AR, VR, apps, sensor-powered objects. Hélène has won multiple awards for their work and is recognized by institutions like Apple, The New York Times, Muse, Webby and others.

Hélène Alonso has a Master's degree in Design and Applied Arts from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Master's degree in Education from Instituto de Investigaciones ecológicas, and a Bachelor's degree in Communications from UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
