Levi Phippen

Levi Phippen is an experienced data scientist currently working at Merrick Bank since October 2014, where responsibilities include utilizing statistics and machine learning to enhance the underwriting process. Prior to this role, Levi served as a Portfolio Strategy Analyst, focusing on modeling credit card payment fraud through logistic and LASSO regression and conducting A/B testing for fraud reduction strategies. In addition to work at Merrick Bank, Levi has been a Military Police member of the Utah Army National Guard since March 2016, ensuring security and order both on base and overseas, and has contributed as a Religious Affairs Specialist assisting the unit chaplain. Levi's academic background includes a Master’s degree in Statistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, both from Utah State University, where earlier roles included Graduate Teaching Assistant and Broadcast Facilitator.
