Sign Language Trainer

Contract · MN, United States

Job description

We are seeking an independent contractor to train our employees on basic American Sign Language (ASL) words and phrases. Duties:

  • Create curriculum based on individual cohort needs, informed by employees working directly with clients who use ASL.

  • Tailor curriculum to each cohort’s needs, adding or removing from the list of words and phrases as necessary.

  • Hose three classes per month to train employees on basic ASL words and phrases.

  • Provide take-home materials for employees to reference when practicing outside of class.

  • Conduct informal assessments of skills to ensure employees' understanding.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in ASL and experience using ASL to communicate with others.

  • Individuals using ASL as their primary language, encouraged to apply.

  • Experience in developing training or writing curriculum preferred.

  • Experience in training or ASL specific training is preferred.

  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
