John Wayne Barker

John Wayne Barker is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the healthcare and human services sectors. Since June 1998, John Wayne Barker has served as the Executive Director of Merrick, Inc., leading the implementation of the organization's strategic plan and fostering a positive work environment. John Wayne Barker is also a Board Director for Newtrax, Inc., a nonprofit corporation founded by Merrick, Inc. Prior to this, John Wayne Barker held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Emeritus Corporation dba Bock Associates, providing consulting services to long-term care agencies. John Wayne Barker founded Focus Homes, Inc., which grew to serve 200 individuals with developmental disabilities, and has held leadership positions at Greenbrier Home and Community Leisure Education And Recreation (CLEAR) Inc. John Wayne Barker holds a Master’s degree in Human Service Management from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from St. Cloud State University.
