Ionela Sandru

Ionela Sandru has a diverse work experience in the field of data management and clinical research. Ionela began their career as a Social Relations Specialist at Boscolo & Partners Romania. Ionela then worked as a Clinical Data Manager at CMED, where they also served as a Trial Data Manager and Project Team Leader. Ionela later joined Johnson & Johnson as a Global Data Manager Consultant. Ionela then moved on to Astellas Pharma Europe as a Senior Data Manager. Ionela further gained experience as a Senior Project Data Manager at Syneos Health. Prior to their current position, they worked at ICON plc as a Sr. Principal Clinical Data Scientist Lead. Currently, Ionela is the Associate Director of Data Management at Merus N.V.

Ionela Sandru received a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a focus on Sociology and Psychology from West University of Timisoara from 2001 to 2005. In 2008, they attended Business School Timisoara to study as an Inspector in Human Resources. In 2017, Ionela obtained a SDTM Certificate and a Define XML Certificate from Clinical Data Interchange Standards. In 2018, they received a LEAN SIX SIGMA YELLOW AND GREEN BELT CERTIFICATE from JURAN. Additionally, Ionela obtained certifications in RAVE EDC SDBE Data Validations and RAVE EDC SDBE for Data Managers from Medidata Solutions, which were obtained in 2023. Most recently, from 2021 to 2022, Ionela earned a Certificate in Clinical Psychology from Recall Healing.
