Lex Bakker

Lex Bakker has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and research fields. Lex started their career as a PhD student at the University Hospital Nijmegen, working in the Tumor Immunology department from 1992 to 1996. Following this, they worked as a Post-doctoral fellow at the DNAX Research Institute, focusing on the role of DAP12, a signaling adaptor protein involved in the activation of NK cells and myeloid cells. Bakker then moved to Crucell Holland BV, where they held roles such as Director of Antibody Discovery and Program Director of Antibody Development from 2000 to 2010. Currently, Bakker is employed at Merus N.V., where they serve as EVP, Chief Development Officer, and Head of Merus Utrecht. Their extensive experience showcases their expertise in the field of biotechnology and research.

Lex Bakker attended Utrecht University from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained an Msc degree in Medical Biology. Prior to that, from 1986 to 1987, they studied at Hanzehogeschool Groningen / Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, and from 1985 to 1986, they attended NHL Hogeschool.
