Nailah Newsome

Nailah Newsome is an experienced educator currently serving as a Social Studies Teacher at MESA Charter High School since August 2020. Previously, Nailah taught High School English at KIPP New Orleans and participated in the Norman C. Francis Teacher Residency as an 11th grade English co-teacher. Prior to a career in education, Nailah gained valuable experience in communications and public relations, holding positions such as Communications Fellow at Gulf Restoration Network and Public Relations Intern at Our School at Blair Grocery. Nailah holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications and Spanish from Loyola University New Orleans, which was supplemented by a study experience at Pontifica Universidad Católica del Ecuador.
