Thomas Soerens is a Professor of Engineering at Messiah University since August 2013 and has served as Group Leader at The Collaboratory for Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research since January 2014, overseeing over 200 students and 30 professionals on various projects globally. Previously, Thomas held the position of Associate Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Arkansas from July 1996 to August 2013, and worked as an Engineer at Peacework from 2006 to May 2013, managing engineering service projects and facilitating student study abroad experiences. Additionally, Thomas has experience as an Environmental Engineer at Trust Environmental Services, an Environmental Scientist at the US EPA, and a Water and Sanitation Engineer with the Raemas Project. Early in Thomas's career, involvement included construction work as a Technician for Shelter For Life International. Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
