Carlos Vallespi

Director, Research Engineering

Carlos Vallespi is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in research and development roles. Vallespi served as Principal Engineer at Aurora from January 2021 to July 2021, followed by positions at Meta, progressing from Manager of Research Engineering (July 2021 - February 2023) to Director of Research Engineering (March 2023 - Present). Previous experience includes roles as an Adjunct Professor at La Salle University, a Robotics Commercialization Specialist at Carnegie Mellon University, and a Project Engineer at GTD, where Vallespi contributed to projects involving automation in agriculture and landmine detection. Vallespi also held multiple senior engineering positions focused on self-driving cars at Uber. In terms of education, Vallespi holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Multimedia Engineering from La Salle Engineering School, as well as a Master of Science in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.
