Damien Sereni

Damien Sereni is an accomplished Engineering Director at Meta since December 2011, currently leading the PyTorch team to develop advanced deep learning frameworks used both internally and in the broader industry. Prior to this role, from 2019 to 2022, Damien directed the Programming Languages & Runtimes teams at Facebook, focusing on the creation of languages, compilers, and virtual machines to enhance server-side development and optimize client applications. Damien's earlier career includes experience as a Software Engineer at Semmle Ltd., a College Lecturer at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and a Research Officer at the University of Oxford. Damien holds a PhD in Computer Science and a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science, both from the University of Oxford.
