Qizhen Zhang

Qizhen (Irene) Zhang is a highly skilled research scientist with a focus on machine learning, currently interning at Meta in the GenAI division since June 2024. Prior to this role, Qizhen gained valuable experience at Cohere, serving as a research scientist intern from August 2023 to June 2024 and as a member of the technical staff from February 2022 to September 2022, both focusing on pretraining. Previous experience includes a research assistant position at the Vector Institute from September 2020 to February 2022 and a research intern role at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute from January 2019 to August 2020. Qizhen holds a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Oxford (2022-2025), an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Toronto (2020-2022), and a BSc in Computer Science from McGill University (2015-2020).
