Randall Balestriero

Randall Balestriero is a Visiting Researcher at Meta AI, FAIR since April 2025 and an Assistant Professor at Brown University since July 2024. Balestriero's research focuses on developing novel theoretical solutions to enhance empirical breakthroughs in artificial intelligence while ensuring user safety, with the goal of creating truly autonomous AI systems. Previously, Balestriero worked as a Quantitative Researcher at Citadel from March 2023 to April 2024, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Meta from June 2021 to March 2023. Balestriero earned a PhD in Deep Learning from Rice University from 2016 to 2021 and holds multiple degrees in Applied Mathematics and Machine Learning from institutions including École normale supérieure and Pierre and Marie Curie University.
