Jim Kanzler

Jim Kanzler has over 35 years of professional experience in the technology industry. Jim began their career in 1985 as an Engineer at Grumman Aerospace Corporation. In 1987, they joined Metaphor Computer Systems as a Systems Engineer, where they designed complex business intelligence systems and became an internal subject matter expert. In 1989, Jim founded Relational Development Systems, Inc., a private consulting firm specializing in implementing the Metaphor business intelligence and data warehousing solutions. In 2000, Jim founded meta5 Inc. after being approached by IBM to acquire the rights to their proprietary Intelligent Decision Server (IDS) product. At meta5, they managed all facets of the business, including P&L, operations, staffing, business development, contracting, employee agreements, IT infrastructure, employee benefits, website development, marketing, and more.

Jim Kanzler obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island between 1981 and 1985. Jim then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2004, though they did not receive a degree. In 2017, they obtained certifications from LinkedIn and Amazon Web Services for Transitioning from Data Warehousing to Big Data and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, respectively.
