Neville Bergin is a Non-Executive Director at Metal Tiger Plc. Prior to that, they were with Gold Fields Ltd from July 2006 to July 2008 as Vice President, Head of Operations, Australia. In that role, they were responsible for strategy and operational management to deliver on production, cost and margin goals for the company’s two Australian sites; the St Ives and Agnew Gold Mines.

The St Ives operation produced approximately 470,000 ounces per annum by processing 7.4Mt of ore (4.7Mt through the Lefroy Mill and 2.7Mt via Heap Leach) and generated revenues of approximately A$450M in 2008. The operation employed approximately 600 people including Business Partners and had an operating budget of around A$270M and capital expenditures of about A$100M including A$25M of exploration expenditure.

The Agnew Gold Mine produced approximately 210,000 ounces per annum by processing 1.3Mt of ore through the mill and was expected to generate revenues of the order of A$190M in 2008. The operation employed approximately 300 people including Business Partners and had an operating budget of around A$90M and capital expenditures of about A$40M including A$18M of exploration expenditure.

Neville maintained close interaction with the Australasian exploration division and the Australian Corporate Development Manager; who operated from the Perth office, to ensure opportunities to optimise the business were explored.
