Senior Computer Vision Engineer at Metalenz

Xiangdong Wang has worked in a variety of roles in the computer vision and machine learning fields since 2002. Xiangdong began their career as a Postdoc at the LISA Lab, Department of Computer Science and Operations Research at the Université de Montréal, where they designed and developed a machine learning library and implemented machine learning and pattern recognition algorithms. In 2004, they became an Engineer at i3DVR International. In 2007, they moved to Epson as a Machine Learning Researcher. In 2009, they became a Senior Software Engineer at ViXS Systems Inc. In 2011, they became a Principal Computer Vision Engineer at Poly, where they designed and implemented computer vision functions for the Polycom EagleEye camera and developed in-house computer vision algorithms such as human detection, lip reading and face recognition. Xiangdong also customized and optimized the source code on resource-constrained platforms, increasing the performance from demo to product mature level. In 2022, they joined metalenz as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer.

Xiangdong Wang obtained a Bachelor of Information Engineering from Southeast University from 1989 to 1993. Xiangdong then obtained a Master of Digital Signal Processing from Southeast University from 1993 to 1996. Finally, they obtained a Ph.D. in Microelectronics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1996 to 1999.
