Catarina Barreira

Catarina Barreira is a seasoned mining professional with extensive experience in mine planning and engineering. Currently serving as a Long Term Mine Planning Engineer at Metals Acquisition Limited since July 2024, Catarina previously held roles at Boliden from November 2017 to August 2024, including Senior Mine Planning Engineer and Mine Planning Engineer focused on strategic and medium-term planning. Catarina's career began at Almina - Minas do Alentejo S.A., where from February 2010 to October 2017, Catarina progressed from Mine Planning Engineer to Mine Planning Manager, overseeing medium and short-term mine plans and ventilation. An initial internship at Visa - Consultores de Geologia Aplicada e Engenharia do Ambiente, S.A. in 2009 involved supporting quarry plans and health and safety initiatives. Catarina holds a Master's degree in Mining and Geology Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, completed in October 2008.
