Amanda Derksen

Amanda Derksen has extensive work experience in various companies and roles. Amanda is currently working as the Global Cybersecurity Lead - Governance & Risk at Methanex Corporation since July 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Deloitte Canada as a Cyber Security Consultant from January 2017 to September 2020. Amanda also had experience as a Project Manager at Salt Spring Coffee from April 2015 to October 2016, and as an Operations Manager at BETA5 from August 2013 to April 2015. Before that, they worked as a Project Manager at Deluxe Entertainment Services Group from April 2012 to August 2013, and as an Auditor at SNAP Financial Group from October 2011 to January 2012. Their early work experience includes the role of an Office Manager at Ansatel Communications Inc. from March 2010 to August 2011.

Amanda Derksen has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Simon Fraser University. Amanda also holds an Associate Certificate in Project Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. In addition to their academic degrees, Amanda has obtained several certifications including Insider Threat Specialist from Proofpoint, Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) from (ISC)², and they are also a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), both issued in 2024 by (ISC)². Amanda also holds a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
