Beth Haiken

EVP at Method Communications

Beth Haiken has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Beth started their career as an Assistant Professor, teaching History at the University of Tennessee and later at the University of British Columbia.

In 2000, they transitioned to the corporate world and joined credit card company Providian as VP of Public Relations, where they managed public relations, brand and reputation, and employee communications. Beth played a crucial role during two major crises and implemented an enterprise risk management program.

From 2005 to 2008, Beth worked as VP of Public Relations at PMI, where they oversaw all public relations activities for the company, including media relations, corporate identity, brand management, financial and crisis communications, and strategic internal communications.

Following their tenure at PMI, they joined Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as SVP, leading client teams in developing and managing public relations programs for corporate clients. Beth secured significant contracts and played an instrumental role in securing Ogilvy's first contract with a leading energy company.

In 2012, Beth joined Waypoint Homes as VP of Corporate Citizenship, Communications & Human Resources. Beth led branding, communications, corporate social responsibility, HR, and training efforts, developing a brand strategy while managing high public visibility. Beth also implemented people management systems to support the company's rapid growth.

From 2013 to 2016, they served as Vice President of Corporate Communications at Lending Club, a marketplace lending leader. In this role, they led the strategy and execution of internal and external communications, focusing on media relations, executive platforms, corporate and employee communications, and culture initiatives.

Since 2016, Beth has been working at boutique tech PR firm Method Communications as EVP of the SF office. Beth'sresponsibilities include corporate growth strategy, business development, and leading client teams in providing public relations strategy, messaging, media relations, digital and content services for clients ranging from startups to publicly traded companies.

In 2019, they joined Klaros Group as an Advisor, leveraging their expertise in communications and strategic planning.

Beth Haiken has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley. Beth also holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in History from Harvard University. Additionally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in American History (United States) from the University of California, Berkeley.
