Ian Evans has over a decade of work experience in the technology industry. In 2009, they began their career as a Senior Consulting Engineer at Packet360, providing network, virtualization, and storage consulting services to companies in the Richmond, VA metro area. From 2010 to 2012, they worked at Lockheed Martin as a Senior SAN Architect, where they architected, implemented, and secured EMC and Open Source SAN infrastructure for the U.S. Joint Forces Command. In 2012, Ian moved to Amazon Web Services, where they worked as a Technical Account Manager, helping fortune 50 companies deploy complex, Multi-AZ/Region IaaS. From 2013 to 2015, Ian worked at Verizon as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff, researching and planning new virtualization/cloud related products for use with Verizon's extensive network connectivity portfolio. In 2015, they joined QTS Data Centers as a Senior Solutions Architect, where they architected a wide range of datacenter solutions for fortune 500 customers. Later that year, they moved to Red Hat as a Senior Consultant, where they helped customers with the adoption and deployment of Openstack technologies. From 2016 to 2019, Ian worked at World Wide Technology as a Principal Open Source Solutions Architect and Senior Cloud Architect, helping build a comprehensive go-to-market cloud strategy and guiding customers through various aspects of cloud adoption and migration. Since 2019, Ian has been the CTO and Co-Founder of Metify, revolutionizing bare metal server, storage, and network provisioning in the datacenter and cloud.

Ian Evans is currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Business Information Management at Bellevue University, with an expected graduation date of 2023. Ian is also enrolled in a Computer Software Engineering program at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Ian has obtained several certifications, including Ubiquiti Broadband Wireless Admin from Ubiquiti Inc. in October 2022, CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA, EMC Proven Professional Certification from EMC, ITIL Foundation Level from EXIN, ITIL Service Design from Loyalist Exam Services, and Microsoft Certified IT Professional from Microsoft.
