Brian Stepp

Brian Stepp has a diverse work experience in various roles related to grant management, accounting, and administration. Brian has worked at Metra Commuter Rail since 2012, starting as a Grant Coordinator and progressing to roles such as Manager of Grant Applications, Manager of Grant Development, Director of Grant Administration, Acting Senior Director of Grant Management & Accounting, and currently serving as the Senior Director of Grant Management & Accounting. In these roles, Brian has been responsible for securing and managing financial resources, analyzing capital investment trends and legislative initiatives, coordinating activities related to grant development and management, and ensuring compliance with funding agreements and government grant regulations. Prior to their work at Metra, Brian worked at Christopher House as an Accountant for Vouchers and Contracts, where they managed the financial aspects of government contracts and provided indirect supervision to staff. Brian also worked as a Consultant for Quality Assurance Data Entry and Data Analysis, using Social Solution's ETO Impact database to track client services and measure their success. Brian's earlier experience includes an internship at the City of Greenfield, WI in Planning and Economic Development, where they reviewed zoning and development applications, and a research assistant role at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, where they conducted research on foreclosure filings and water industry firms. Before that, Brian worked as a Collateral Management Specialist at MortgageIT, Inc, ensuring the timely delivery and correction of loan documents. Brian Stepp completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2003 to 2006. Brian then pursued their Masters in Urban Planning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2007 to 2009.
