Marty Fitts

Marty Fitts has extensive experience in the railway industry, currently serving as the Senior Director of Training and Certification at Metra since June 2005. In this role, Marty oversees the training programs for locomotive engineers, conductors, and assistant conductors, ensuring compliance with federal regulations regarding certification. Previously, Marty held the position of Superintendent of Training Certification and Compliance at Metra, as well as Superintendent for Contract Carriers, fostering effective communication between Metra and major freight railroads to minimize delays. Earlier experience includes roles as Senior Trainmaster, Trainmaster, and Transportation Conductor & Engineer at Metra, beginning in October 1989. Educational background includes attendance at Hyde Park Career Academy and junior college from 1983 to 1984.
