Samuel Bergus

Samuel Bergus has extensive experience in engineering, specifically in mechanical systems. Samuel currently holds the position of Director of Electrical/Mechanical Engineering at Metra Commuter Rail since 2018. In this role, they oversee the management of mechanical projects for Metra, which is one of the largest and most complex commuter rail systems in North America.

Prior to joining Metra, Samuel worked as the Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager at the same company from December 2018 to February 2023, where they were responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical projects for the facilities of Metra.

Before their tenure at Metra, Samuel worked as a Mechanical Engineer/Project Engineering Lead at CannonDesign from October 2017 to December 2018.

Samuel also has experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Shive-Hattery, Inc. from May 2007 to October 2017, where they designed mechanical systems such as HVAC, industrial piping, and plumbing. Their responsibilities included the preparation of construction documents and construction observation.

In addition, Samuel worked as a Summer Intern at FPL in 2006, gaining valuable experience in the field.

Furthermore, Samuel has worked as an Independent Contractor at MTE Project Development in 2003, further enhancing their skills and knowledge in engineering.

Samuel Bergus obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they attended Marquette University in 2002 and 2003, also studying Mechanical Engineering.
