Alvaro B.

Alvaro B. started their work experience in 2015 as a Mechanical Engineer Dept. Researcher at the Technical University of Madrid. In this role, they were a member of the research team focused on lubricants analysis and simulation.

In 2017, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where they worked until 2018.

From 2018 to 2020, Alvaro worked at the Argonne National Laboratory. Alvaro started as an Engineering Internship - Center for Transportation Research and then moved on to roles such as Data Analysis - Research Aide and Data Scientist - Center for Transportation Research. During their time at Argonne National Laboratory, they conducted regression, time series forecasting, and classification using TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, and XGBoost. Alvaro also analyzed large datasets and developed and optimized models to accurately represent a vehicle's behavior. Alvaro was involved in data pipelines, model development, deployment, and inference in both local and cloud settings.

From 2020 to 2021, Alvaro worked as a Data Scientist at Kalderos. Alvaro focused on anomaly detection on healthcare data to increase the business offering. Alvaro established good data science practices, migrated a legacy codebase to Python, and implemented modern sampling and inference techniques.

In 2021, Alvaro joined PepsiCo as a Data Scientist. Alvaro developed different solutions based on the market environment for ad targeting through social media and estimated the causal effect of a marketing campaign on sales. Alvaro also stewarded good data science practices in and outside of Data and Analytics.

Currently, Alvaro is a Data Scientist at Metrika, starting in 2022. Further details of their role are not provided.

Alvaro B. has an extensive education history in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Alvaro received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politénica de Madrid, which they completed from 2010 to 2016. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2018.
