Mica O'Brien

Mica O'Brien is a Principal Transportation Planner at Los Angeles Metro since September 2023, focusing on Joint Development projects and innovative housing solutions on Metro-owned land. Prior to this role, Mica served as a Senior Transportation Planner at the Los Angeles Housing Department, contributing to assessments of fair housing and anti-displacement studies through data analysis and stakeholder engagement. Mica's experience includes serving as a Research Analyst at the Urban Institute, conducting analyses on federal housing programs, and as a Fellow and Research Assistant in various housing-related roles. Mica holds a Master’s degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from UCLA and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Princeton University. Additionally, Mica has international teaching experience from a fellowship in Thailand and has interned in policy roles related to housing and education.
