Kenya Wheeler is a Principal Transportation Planner at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) since June 2014, overseeing the implementation and evaluation of demand-responsive parking pricing and new parking technology. Previously, Kenya held the role of Senior Environmental Planner at SFMTA, contributing to CEQA transportation analysis for development projects. Kenya served as Chair of the Oakland Bicyclist and Pedestrian Advisory Commission from 2014 to 2019, advising the City Council on bicycle and pedestrian initiatives. Additional experience includes a Principal Planner position in Compton, Deputy Field Director for the Democratic National Committee, and Senior Planner roles at Bay Area Rapid Transit and the American Planning Association. Kenya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and completed coursework in City Planning at the University of California, Berkeley.
