Michael R. Adkins

Michael R. Adkins, M. Ed. has extensive experience in the education sector, currently serving as Dean of Students, District Teacher Leader, and Numeracy Multi-Classroom Leader at Metro Nashville Public Schools since July 2020. Prior to this, Michael held various roles within Anne Arundel County Public Schools and Shelby County Schools, including educator and 2nd grade educator. Having begun a career in education at Metro Nashville Public Schools in 2009, Michael has focused on setting clear learning directions, shaping educational cultures, and transforming teaching practices. Currently pursuing a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership at Tennessee State University, Michael also holds multiple advanced degrees in Curriculum and Online Teaching, Educational Administration and Supervision, and Early Childhood Education.
