Ivan Tchakarov

Chief Horticulture Officer at Metrolina Greenhouses

Ivan Tchakarov has had an extensive career in the horticulture industry, primarily with Metrolina Greenhouses. Ivan started as an intern in 1999 and steadily worked their way up to become the Director of Growing Operations. In this role, they oversaw the daily implementation of programs and managed a team of 112 professionals for more than 460 acres of growing space in North and South Carolina. Ivan also served as the Head Grower at Metro from 2003 to 2013. Currently, Ivan holds the position of Chief Horticulture Officer at Metrolina Greenhouses, where they are responsible for plant quality, scheduling, and execution of all growing protocols across both locations in North and South Carolina.

Ivan Tchakarov completed their education in Plant Science with a Master of Science degree from Agricultural University Plovdiv and The Ohio State University. Ivan was also honored in the 40 under 40 Class of 2013 by GPN and received recognition as Eployee of the Year at Metrolina Greenhouses.
