Panagiotis Lainas

Panagiotis Lainas currently serves as the Head of the Department of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery at Metropolitan Hospital in Athens, Greece, a position held since January 2024. Lainas is also a board member of the International Society for Fluorescence Guided Surgery since 2022 and has been a Senior Consultant at Greater Paris University Hospitals - AP-HP since July 2018. Prior roles include Scientific Director at Université Paris-Saclay from 2015 to 2022, Senior University Registrar at AP-HP from 2015 to 2018, and General Surgery Resident at various institutions including the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris and Greater Paris University Hospitals from 2011 to 2015. Education qualifications include a PhD in Surgical Sciences from Université Paris-Saclay, multiple Master's degrees from the same institution, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Crete.
