Robert Swanson is a seasoned environmental professional with extensive experience in water resources management and environmental research. Currently serving as a Senior Environmental Research Scientist at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago since September 2016, Robert previously held the position of Stormwater Program Manager at DuPage County, where Robert led the development and implementation of a stormwater quality program and an Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination program. Prior to that, Robert worked as a Senior Water Resources Planner for the Commonwealth of Virginia, focusing on water resources development and compliance with the Clean Water Act. Robert's earlier roles as a Laboratory Technologist with Fairfax County Government and a Laboratory Technician at Premier Laboratory, Inc. provided foundational expertise in environmental sampling and analysis. Robert holds a Master’s degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Policy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from William & Mary.
