Rob Owen

Rob Owen has an extensive work experience in the maritime industry. Rob started their career in 1981 as a Builder at Hood Yacht Systems and worked there until 1986. In 1993, they joined Power Marine as an Engineer and also took on the role of Engineering Technician. Rob worked for Power Marine until 2008. In 2007, they briefly worked as an Engineer at Horizons Edge Casino Cruises. In 2011, they joined MSRC/Moran/Smith Marine as a Responder and stayed until 2016. In 2018, they worked as an Assistant Engineer at Metson Marine Services and later that year, joined American Petroleum and Transportation as a Marine Engineer. Currently, since February 2021, they are employed as the Chief Engineer at Metson Marine, Inc.

Rob Owen's education history includes several courses and training programs relating to engineering and maritime operations. In 2015, they completed an engineer training course at Maritime Professional Training, although they did not obtain a degree. In 2008, they attended Quality Maritime for prerequisite engineering studies. In addition, Rob has taken refresher courses at Maritime Professional Training, including one on BST (Basic Safety Training) and another on ERM (Engine Room Management). Rob has also studied Engineroom Management at the same institution. Prior to their maritime training, Rob attended North Shore Reg. Voc, although the field of study is unspecified.

Alongside their education, Rob has acquired additional certifications. These include the "C/e OSV ;DDE 1000/4000 hp" certification from the U.S. Coast Guard, and the "Hazwopper /current" certification from MER (institution not further specified). The exact dates of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
