Xunjie Yu

Xunjie Yu is an experienced professional in mechanical engineering and applied mechanics, currently serving as Manager of Physics and Applied Mechanics at Mevion Medical Systems since September 2019. In this role, Xunjie focuses on the mechanical design, structural analysis, and electromagnetic simulation of superconducting magnets and components for proton radiation therapy systems. Prior experience includes an R&D Engineering Intern position at Edwards Lifesciences, where Xunjie improved product design for noninvasive blood pressure measurement, and an R&D Intern role at Dassault Systèmes, contributing to the Living Heart Project through the development of patient-specific heart models. Xunjie also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Boston University, conducting experiments on cardiovascular tissue and designing a coronary stent, alongside teaching responsibilities in instrumentation and mechanical systems design. Xunjie holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China.
