Andrea Senteno

Andrea Senteno is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in civil rights, immigration, and legislative advocacy. Currently serving as Regional Counsel at MALDEF since September 2013, Andrea oversees legislative and regulatory work in Washington and litigation concerning the United States. Previously, Andrea held the position of Legislative Staff Attorney at MALDEF, focusing on immigration and voting rights policy while contributing to efforts to amend the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Andrea's legal career includes roles as a Law Clerk at various organizations, including the U.S. Department of Justice, where tasks involved preparing motions in immigration proceedings, and as a Senior Research Associate at the Public International Law & Policy Group, providing legal assistance for post-conflict constitution drafting. Andrea earned a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Political Studies and Latin American Studies from Pitzer College.
