Jaber Mohamed

Jaber Mohamed has a diverse background in communications and journalism. Jaber began their career as a freelance journalist with Guardian News & Media, where they gained experience in various areas including multimedia, music, consumer news, travel, and global development. Jaber then worked as a local news reporter for the Haringey Independent, covering significant court cases and the Tottenham riots. Jaber later joined The Mail on Sunday as a news reporter, covering international stories such as the European migrant crisis and major domestic events like the Scottish Independence Referendum and the EU Referendum. Jaber then transitioned to a role as a Senior Press Officer in the Department for Transport, where they managed communications plans for high-profile policies in aviation and maritime. Jaber's next role was as a Strategic Communications Manager at the Cabinet Office. Jaber joined the Department of Health and Social Care as the Chief Communications Officer, where they provided strategic counsel, managed a large press team during the Covid-19 pandemic, and led various government communications on topics including vaccines, medicines, and Brexit issues. Jaber currently holds the position of Associate Director, Healthcare Communications & PR at MHP Group, and will soon be promoted to the role of Director, Health Comms & PR.

Jaber Mohamed began their education at the University of Leeds in 2007 where they completed a Bsc (Hons) degree in International Medical Science in 2011. In 2009, they also spent a study year abroad at the University of Sydney, focusing on Medical Science. After graduating from Leeds, Jaber pursued further education in 2012 at Lambeth College, where they obtained a NCTJ Diploma in Newspaper Journalism, specializing in Journalism.
