Thashlin oversees the foundation’s Youth Employment and University Success investments and teams that focus on accelerating opportunities for low-income youth in South Africa. In this role, he drives strategic priorities and directs a diverse set of initiatives to provide South Africans with access to new career and job opportunities, or to earn university degrees and become leaders in their chosen profession.
Before joining the foundation in 2011, Thashlin worked as a consultant in the telecommunications and industrial sector. He completed his community service at Itemoheng District Hospital in the Free State province, and previously served as a board member on the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Thashlin has master’s degrees in epidemiology, public health and biomedical sciences, as well as a Ph.D. from Stellenbosch University.
