Kieran Marion

EVP of Advocacy & Communications at Michigan Credit Union League

Kieran Marion is currently the EVP of Advocacy & Communications at Michigan Credit Union League. Kieran has dedicated much of their career to government relations and policy initiatives.

Kieran started out as a Staff Assistant for Senator Bill Bullard, Jr. from January 1998 to August 2001. Kieran then became a Law Clerk/Extern for Kelley Cawthorne PLLC from August 2001 to January 2002. Kieran's first role in governmental affairs was Legislative Affairs Manager for Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates from February 2002 to June 2003.

Kieran then transitioned to Dykema where they worked as a Government Relations Professional from July 2003 to December 2005. After that, they became the Legislative Director for Senator Shirley M. Johnson from January 2006 to December 2006. In 2007, Kieran took on the role of Legislative Counsel for Uniform Law Commission (NCCUSL) until 2012 when they became Vice President of Governmental Affairs for Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates, a position they held until 2014.

Most recently, Kieran served as the Director of the Office of Policy Initiatives for the Michigan Department of State from 2015 until 2018. Kieran's extensive experience in government relations and policy makes their well-suited for their current role at Michigan Credit Union League.

Kieran Marion attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where they earned their Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, earning a B.A. in International Relations.

They work with Janet Ormsby - Senior Director of Events, Todd Jorns - Director of Federal Legislative Affairs, and Rick Weaver - Director of Communications. Their manager is Patty Corkery, President & CEO.
