Jim Gorman

Vice President, Business Development & Strategy at Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center

Jim Gorman has worked in the automotive industry for over 20 years. Jim began their career in 1999 as a Lead Product Engineer for Johnson Controls GmbH & Co. KG in Rüsselsheim, Germany. In 2001, they joined Johnson Controls as an Engineering Manager, Interiors and was later promoted to Principal Engineer, Automotive Seating. In 2006, they moved to Intertec Systems, LLC where they served as Executive Director, Engineering & Technology and Engineering Manager, Interiors. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as Executive Director, Product Engineering for INOAC Interior Systems, LLC. In 2018, they joined Detroit Manufacturing Systems LLC as Director, Advanced Manufacturing & Systems Engineering. Most recently, they have been working as Director of Business Development and Business Solutions Manager for the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center since 2021.

Jim Gorman holds an M.B.A. from Michigan State University's Broad College of Business and a B.S. in Engineering from Michigan State University's College of Engineering.
