Akshara Karthik is a current undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy with minors in International Studies and Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences. Experience includes serving as a Communications Intern in the Executive Office of the Governor of Michigan, a Brady PAC Political Intern focused on gun violence prevention policy, and a Staff Reporter for The Michigan Daily. Additionally, Akshara leads a materials subteam within M-HEAL, conducts research at Henry Ford Health, and holds leadership roles in various organizations, including Chiron Healthcare Consulting. Previous internships include strategic communications at The National Academies of Sciences, legislative assistance for Michigan State Senator Rosemary Bayer, and grassroots campaigning for legislative reelection efforts. Akshara has contributed to community health initiatives and engaged in research on topics encompassing public health and socio-economic challenges.
