Bethany Balks

Bethany Balks is an experienced professional in communications and marketing, currently serving as the Associate Director for Communications at Michigan State University since October 2007. In this role, Bethany leads the Residence Education and Housing Services communications and marketing unit, focusing on strategic planning and public relations. Previously, Bethany held the position of Assistant Director Of Communications, managing the communications team and overseeing a variety of brands. Prior experience includes roles as Human Resources Communications Manager I and II, where responsibilities involved directing HR communication efforts and managing publication projects. Bethany began the career as a Desktop Publisher IV in MSU Human Resources while also gaining experience as a Creative Intern at BBDO Detroit and a Promotions Intern at Ego Detroit Magazine. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Public Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Advertising and Telecommunication, both from Michigan State University.
