Burton Bargerstock

Burton Bargerstock serves as a Senior Academic Specialist and Executive Director for the Office for Public Engagement and Scholarship at Michigan State University, where tenure began in June 1998. Bargerstock has held multiple leadership roles including Director for University Outreach and Engagement Communication and Information Technology, and has contributed significantly to the advancement of digital humanities as an affiliated faculty member. In addition, Bargerstock is involved with MSU Press as a Senior Co-Editor and Associate Editor for the Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement. Active in numerous professional organizations, Bargerstock has held key positions within the Engagement Scholarship Consortium and the Academy of Community Engagement Scholarship, including service as President. Educationally, Bargerstock has pursued advanced studies in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education, and holds degrees in College and University Administration and Political Theory from Michigan State University.
