Matthew Bernard

Director, Research Technology Support Facility

Matthew Bernard currently serves as an Associate Professor and the Director of the MSU Flow Cytometry Core Facility in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at Michigan State University, a position held since March 2015. Prior to this, Matthew held the role of Director of the South Campus Flow Cytometry Core at the MSU In Vivo Facility from March 2015 to January 2020, focusing on immunotoxicology and immunopharmacology model development. Matthew's industry experience includes working as a Senior Research Investigator at Bristol-Myers Squibb from January 2011 to February 2015, where contributions to Drug Safety Evaluation studies were made, particularly in flow cytometry. Earlier, Matthew completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology and earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Matthew also holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from SUNY Geneseo.
